I love getting out & about to various book-ish and other arts-related events. Here’s some I’ve got in my diary over the next few months:
Nine Worlds Geekfest, 10th August, London
Nine Worlds is a 3-day event, 10th-12th August. I’ll be there on the Friday, participating in the panel ‘The only way is indie’ at 5-6pm – as well as enjoying other panels throughout the day, and hopefully meeting lots of people including some old friends. Say hello if you see me!
Llanwddyn Folk & Acoustic Music Weekend, 31st August – 2nd September
This is a wonderfully friendly & welcoming weekend of music hosted in my village. I’m a member of the organising committee (Llanwddyn Events), so if you come along you’ll see me running round (or standing guard at a door or gate!) at some point. I’ll be one of the folks wearing lanyards.
With a ceilidh/twmpath on the Friday night, two jam-packed concert sessions on the Saturday, and a musical service up at the village church on Sunday, you’ll have a brilliant time.
Don’t forget to say thank you to Ruth & Ken Powell, who masterminded the whole thing!
UK Meet, 8-9th September, Bristol
If you’re at all involved in m/m romance*, or found LGBTQ+ fiction via that niche, you’ll probably have heard of UK Meet. I’ll be there as a Spotlight Author (which means you’ll get a freebie from me on your USB stick, some goodies in your goody bag, and I’ll be selling copies of Under Leaden Skies at one of the bookfair sessions, as well as being around to chat generally), and will also be assisting Fiona Pickles in hearing any pitches for Manifold Press.
*because, like me, that’s the genre where it started, and I don’t want to go saying it’s more influential in other niches of LGBTQ+ fiction than it is when I don’t know…
Monty Lit Fest, 15th June 2019, Gregynog Hall
A friendly one-day literary festival in its 2nd year. Lots of great things planned – yes, you’ve guessed it, I’m on the committee!
So again, look out for me running round wearing a lanyard…
